Intuition

Cultivating inner knowing

A question currently animating me about the inner life/spirit is:

How do I maintain my authentic self while serving the Community? How can I pour into my community without spilling the essence of who I am?

September 30, 2025

A question currently animating me about the outer world/universe/multiverse is:

How can unfamiliar places teach me about rebuilding trust, and what can the people I meet in Rwanda show me about nurturing belonging and healing in communities recovering from trauma?

A moment I noticed my inner light kindled this month was:

When I greeted someone in Kinyarwanda, I could name a few local dishes at a restaurant. The friendly smiles and warm responses brought me genuine joy and made me feel more connected to the community.

A moment I noticed my inner light dwindled this month was:

When I let my insecurities about being in a new place dictate my actions. It reminded me that embracing vulnerability is an essential part of the journey toward deeper understanding.

Assumptions I'm examining right now are:

Other

September 30, 2025

I originally assumed:

I used to think freedom meant being able to stand on my own, make my own decisions, and live without depending on others.

September 30, 2025

These assumptions are changing:

Now I see that freedom is deeply interdependent. It grows in relationship with the people we show up for and those who show up for us. True freedom is not only about my liberation but about our collective liberation, being free together.

A moment I stepped out of my comfort zone this month was:

Arriving in Rwanda, I was excited but aware of challenges, especially that many older people speak only Kinyarwanda. I’ve begun learning it and am grateful to know basic greetings, introductions, and common local dish names.

Compassion

Engaged Empathy

Something that is helping me build trusting relationships here is:

I connected with Ruan this month when we were paired. Before our call, I knew him through his love for Brazil. I was amazed by his work as a community builder and young changemaker tackling social and environmental challenges, and our shared vision quickly built trust.

Fulfilment in Service

Kakuma

Aug 7, 2025

The photo captures me giving my skills and time to serve my community. Though it requires energy and effort, the act of service fills me with fulfilment and renews my motivation to offer the best version of myself.

Retreat at the Source

Kisumu

Jul 20, 2025

This photo captures a mini retreat at Lake Victoria, where I chose to begin my Launch Year journey and renew my commitment to community service. Being at the source of the Nile reminded me that great rivers begin in still waters, and that service flows best when we first pause to ground ourselves.
