Intuition

Cultivating inner knowing

A question currently animating me about the inner life/spirit is:

Who am I beyond this skin that I am in?

October 30, 2025

A question currently animating me about the outer world/universe/multiverse is:

How does God appear in the small details (the grass blowing in the wind, the sun beaming through the windows, small joys, etc.)

The practices I’m finding most helpful at the moment are:

Journaling,Creating Music/Art,Time in Nature,Yoga

A moment I noticed my inner light kindled this month was:

Traveling to Rotorua with my friend Elizabeth and walking through the Redwood trees at night. It was so magical and brought me so much joy!

October 30, 2025

A moment I noticed my inner light dwindled this month was:

My host family left for around a week, and I felt that shift. The light that they bring to the house was suddenly no longer there, and I missed our conversations and their warmth.

Aligning action

Assumptions I'm examining right now are:

Other

October 30, 2025

I originally assumed:

I used to think that home is tied to a place, location or time.

October 30, 2025

These assumptions are changing:

Now I sense home is created and preserved by people. I can create my home anywhere in the world from my inner love. However, I also know that the home I grew up in is being preserved, not because it is in the same place, but because of my family's love.

A moment I stepped out of my comfort zone this month was:

Asking a stranger to take a picture of me and then asking her out on a coffee date!

Compassion

Engaged Empathy

Something that is helping me build trusting relationships here is:

Watching the flight school recordings since I cannot join because of my time zone!

Thank you for being brave and sharing your creativity with the flight school community. Your voice has helped me touch back in and embrace my creativity that I thought was gone!

Lydia Belz

Thank you for taking part of the small group sessions and helping me feel tethered to The Flight School community as I am traveling. Our in-depth conversations have helped give me a place to reflect on my past and inner questionings and give me something to look forward to!

Hobbit Hole

Matamata

Sep 28, 2025

Last weekend, I was able to visit the Hobbiton movie set in Matamata, New Zealand. As a huge Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fan, seeing this in person was a dream come true. Walking by a hobbit hole for the first time made me feel like I entered into one of my favorite novels, helping reignite the kid in me who loved reading, exploring, and dreaming of fantastical worlds. This sense of joy is what makes my trip to Hobbiton my magical moment of the month!

Redwoods at Night

Rotorua

Oct 25, 2025

Rotorua is a small town around three hours away from Auckland. It is know for its geothermal activity, natural beauty, and its Redwood trees. I had heard from many of my coworkers that the Redwood at night walk was one of the most beautiful things they had seen - they were not wrong. This picture captures the moment of me walking through the trees, almost 200 feet off the ground, and watching the light show brightening up the night sky. In this moment, I was in awe of nature's beauty and how it was combined with thoughtful art. I was grounded, fulfilled, and reminded of my humanity in a way that only nature and art can make you feel.
