Intuition

Cultivating inner knowing

A question currently animating me about the inner life/spirit is:

What does intrinsic motivation look like?

September 10, 2025

A question currently animating me about the outer world/universe/multiverse is:

How much impact can our day-to-day kindness have on a, literally, global scale?

The practices I’m finding most helpful at the moment are:

Prayer

A moment I noticed my inner light kindled this month was:

Spontaneous connection! I met up with a friend, Alaa, who I wasn't close to as I was in Cairo. We ended up bonding over quite a lot! We had Mediterranean food and a GENUINELY remarkable Pomegranate & Hibiscus Fizz drink and it was the highlight of a month with lots of downs.

A moment I noticed my inner light dwindled this month was:

In Oman, I spent my time learning guitar as my dad had one gathering dust. I must have spent—at most—an hour, before giving up, as it was "too confusing". I wish I'd taken more time being a beginner at something, especially if it is hard and I am not getting the hang of it.

Courage

Aligning action

Assumptions I'm examining right now are:

Success

September 10, 2025

I originally assumed:

I used to think that material wealth was the corner stone and the defining aspect of success. At one point, I envisioned and aspired to achieve a future with *just* wealth and felt the need to pick a career that would "more so realistically" least to so.

September 10, 2025

These assumptions are changing:

Now I sense that fulfillment and having a positive impact on one's community are much more important factors of what "success" can actually be defined as. I still have doubts on what career I want to pursue, but I've realized i ought to dedicate my time to something meaningful.

September 10, 2025

A moment I stepped out of my comfort zone this month was:

Discussing these clashing notion of success and fulfillment with my father, on my drive to the airport. While we did not actually come to an agreement, I am glad we even had the discussion to begin with.

Compassion

Engaged Empathy

Something that is helping me build trusting relationships here is:

Finding common ground and shares interests with my peers! It's an ongoing process, but I'm quite eager to be much more proactive in it!

Kashimani Simasiku

Your proactivity thus far in being steps ahead of the program in planning for Japan, but also checking in on me and helping me when I miss a session, has genuinely meant a lot and is inspiring me to push myself to do more. Always a pleasure and always grateful <3

Tea & Talk !

Sohar

Aug 23, 2025

I spent a week in Oman with my father in the month of August. Not having much to do whatsoever throughout the week, we unintentionally spent almost 4 hours in this beautiful tea shop we had visited. We got to talk about everything from his work and my gap year to favorite movies and politics. It is not often I get the opportunity or space to connect with my dad so it was quite wholesome and I was grateful afterwards :D

The fourth photo was on the morning of the day before and it's definitely my favorite capture from the month :P
