Cultivating inner knowing

A question currently animating me about the inner life/spirit is:

What inside me leads my decisions? What am I mainly driven by?

January 3, 2026

A question currently animating me about the outer world/universe/multiverse is:

Is it shared hardships/trauma which brings people together on another level? Can we really be as bonded to other people without sharing these hardships?

The practices I’m finding most helpful at the moment are:

Rest

A moment I noticed my inner light kindled this month was:

Any time spent with my family and friends. Being around no one I know for a while really made me appreciate being with my close people.

A moment I noticed my inner light dwindled this month was:

Assumptions I'm examining right now are:

Success

I originally assumed:

I used to think success was about making a big, visible difference.

These assumptions are changing:

Now I sense that success is truly your mindset. Being happy by being driven towards something. Maybe you won’t create a huge difference but if you feel as though you’re doing what you can, I think the that’s all that matters.

A moment I stepped out of my comfort zone this month was:

Standing up for myself in a situation where I wouldn’t usually

Something that is helping me build trusting relationships here is:

Being able to meet up with flight school members really brought it to life :)

Being intentionally away from technology and distractions has taught me:

I really really love reading your travel stories, it's truly inspiring the way you approach traveling, honoring communities, learning from them. Stories like this help move from the "tourist" mindset and deeply connect with a new place!

Visiting a friend

Dec 2, 2025

Having friends around the world is one of the most amazing and also heartbreaking things. When I was flying back from South America, I had a layover in Madrid, which meant I was able to see one of my best friends for the first time in a few months. After solo travelling it genuinely feels so special to spend time with people who mean a lot to you. Beyond grateful I got to see my friend briefly, I feel recharged :)

Potosí mines!

Oct 27, 2024

Potosí is a major colonial-era silver supplier for Spain, a mine where many people died. When I visited, I was in a restaurant and was speaking to some locals who took me to a mine worker to show me the mines. He gave me a hat, and a torch and took me about 5 floors deep into this crazy mine. It was such a unique and amazing experience.
