What have you been going through and experiencing?

When did I lose my sense of play, and what environments make my sense of play return?

Intuition

Cultivating inner knowing

A question currently animating me about the inner life/spirit is:

When did I lose my sense of play, and what environments make my sense of play return?

January 31, 2026

A question currently animating me about the outer world/universe/multiverse is:

How can we as a collective regain our lives in an age where our attention is the most valuable commodity?

The practices I’m finding most helpful at the moment are:

A moment I noticed my inner light kindled this month was:

When I bumped into an old friend while staying in a small beach town. It was a by chance encounter, and it was so lovely to reconnect with him! We ended up talking for 4 hours, and somehow it felt like no time had passed at all.

A moment I noticed my inner light dwindled this month was:

Balancing my commitments at home! Juggling home life, university preparations, travel plans, and work has been a little overwhelming lately.

Assumptions I'm examining right now are:

January 31, 2026

I originally assumed:

The concept of 'play' is naturally (and societally) meant to fade with age.

January 31, 2026

These assumptions are changing:

This is idea is socially constructed, shaped by norms that equate adulthood with seriousness and productivity, when in reality, play is a way of exploring, risk taking, and creating, the things that makes us human!

A moment I stepped out of my comfort zone this month was:

In the spirit of play, I swung on a swing for the first time in years as I played with my 10-year-old sister at the playground. I challenged my own internal and societal external norms regarding what it means to play as an adult.

Being intentionally away from technology and distractions has taught me:

How fulfilled my life is when I’m in the mountains, rivers, and trees. The sensation of inner being and connection to the sacred when I’m present with Mother Earth.

Doug! It has been absolutely wonderful being able to get to know you more. Our conversations throughout the past couple of weeks have been so enriching and have really made me think more introspectively about my life, the world, and travel in general <3

Feeling welcomed by the world around me. 4500m above sea level, only myself and my travel companions were at this lake. Without access to wifi (or the world at large!) I felt truly present in the space I was existing in—both physically (the earth and mountains had let me inhibit this space) and mentally (I was at peace, without the buzz of the world beyond).
