Intuition

Cultivating inner knowing

A question currently animating me about the inner life/spirit is:

How can my connection with my ancestry lead me to find answers to my soul's curiosity? How can nature, the orixás, and communities help me?

A question currently animating me about the outer world/universe/multiverse is:

How can I learn to be unity within my own communities?

The practices I’m finding most helpful at the moment are:

A moment I noticed my inner light kindled this month was:

Transitioning from the Brazilian gathering to my solo retreat journey showed me how finding a balance between the collective and the individual is essential. In the quilombo I visited, nature became an ally, silence an opportunity, and intuition led me to care about body and soul

A moment I noticed my inner light dwindled this month was:

I got rejected from my dream school. It was tough after I had put so much tireless effort into it. Still, getting stuck isn’t an option. I know I’m meant to be exactly where I’m destined to be. Hard work pays off :)

Assumptions I'm examining right now are:

Happiness

January 1, 2026

I originally assumed:

I used to think that being far from home would make me constantly happy.

January 1, 2026

These assumptions are changing:

Now I sense that joy isn’t guaranteed by distance or place, it’s shaped by the environment you inhabit, the people around you, and the way your senses respond to where you are.

A moment I stepped out of my comfort zone this month was:

I spent Christmas and New Year with a family other than my own. Even though my family doesn’t celebrate these holidays, I felt homesick and missed them deeply. Being surrounded by unfamiliar traditions pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Something that is helping me build trusting relationships here is:

Something that is helping me build trusting relationships here is putting myself in others’ shoes and being genuinely curious about what people share. Making an effort to create real-life relationships has also been supporting me throughout this process.

I really appreciated your insights during our discussion on reimagining education. Your perspective, together with Tristan's, on nurturing curiosity and students at the centre of learning, added great depth. It reminded me how powerful learning becomes when driven by passion.

Magical Moments

Light-kindling moments

feeding body and soul

Sep 30, 2024

activism gives me a sense of worth and importance within myself. crossing km far away, to ground in a city willing to advocate, create bonds and co-create a space to discuss and impact education made my days in ilhéus the greatest ever.

by august 29-31, connection, people and purpose fed my body and soul. my body was fed with shared meals, in the presence of students from all the cities in my state, bahia, all together motivated by the wish to reclaim improvement, dignity and the right to their bodies to exist. my soul was fed by the sense of "i'm not alone," the drums, the shouted songs reverberating everywhere and the human warmth were all things that set this experience apart.
