Why are we here?
Across history, when systems collapse, new ways of learning emerge—quietly, courageously, at the edges. Mystery schools. Folk schools. Freedom schools. Spaces where learning is shaped by life itself.
For millennia, they followed the same pattern: honoring presence over performance, meaning over metrics, spirit over standardization. Learning was intuitive, relational, experiential—uncoupled from classrooms, unbounded by textbooks.
These schools didn't prepare students to fit the world. They prepared them to remake it.
The Flight School is animated by the same spark.
In every high school on the planet, young people sense the dissonance of an education built for a world that no longer exists. They're hungry for what's real in a world of deepfakes. They're awake to what's breaking down, and attuned to what's breaking through.
They're ready to trade old maps for a compass. The treadmill for the open sky.
They want to pause. Look up. Leap.
But they don't know where to start.

What We Do
The Flight School reimagines the transition to adulthood as a rebellious rite of passage.
We meet emerging adults at the threshold – between high school and what comes next – and create conditions for transformation.
Our Fellowship reimagines the gap year as a Launch Year. Each year, we welcome Fellows from diverse geographies, backgrounds, and beliefs, united in their longing for what school left out.
We provide courses, coaches, and a peer community so Fellows are seen, stretched, and supported in asking:
Who am I beyond my resume?
What breaks my heart and lights me up?
What's mine to do?
Through inner work, wise accompaniment, and immersive travel, Fellows cultivate intuition, compassion, and courage - the capacities that anchor and animate a meaningful life.
Our campus is in the cloud. Our community spans continents. Our curriculum is rooted in relationship, ritual, retreat, and reflection.
After the Launch Year, Fellows don't "graduate" – they join the murmuration.
But that’s just the beginning.
As a lab, Fellows cultivate intuition, compassion, and courage - the capacities that anchor and animate a meaningful life.
This isn't schoolwork.
It's soul work.
